MATERIAL
The Model 738 HC has a duplex differential rewind system capable of running a wide range of material including: extensible films (polyethylene, polypropylene), polyesters, film laminates, pressure sensitive label stock, vinyl and paper.
UNWIND
A separate unwind with a lift-out-shaft provides 40" (1016 mm) or 50" (1270 mm) diameter capabilities with roll weights up to 2000 lbs (910 kg). This unit is available with or without a roll lift for loading unwinds rolls.
The unwind is available with 3" or 6" core capability.
A pivoting touch screen control station at the unwind allows the operator to control the machine, make splices, activate the web guide and select multiple brake pads.
The unwind includes a digital web guide with manual fine-adjustment of the sensing head position. Depending on the application, ultra-sonic, LED or line/edge sensors are available.
SPLICE TABLE
Splicing tables are available for all styles of unwind. A dual cutting groove is normally provided for more precise in-register splices. Individually-controlled pneumatic clamps secure the web while splicing. Cutting grooves can be installed with a straight or a 15-degree cutting angle.
STEP-IN PLATFORM
A step-in platform is provided between the unwind and rewind sections. This provides easy access to set slitting knives and make splices. As a safety feature, the machine will not run while the operator is standing on this platform.
SLITTING
Pneumatic knife holders are standard for shear and in-air razor slitting. Other types of slitting are available upon request. Our knife system is fully guarded and interlocked for operator safety. The machine design allows for easy changeover between shear and razor slitting.
REWIND
Our cantilevered pneumatic differential rewind shaft system can accommodate 3" or 6" cores. Depending on roll weight and web width, the machine may be fitted with out-board supports which are engaged during the winding process.
An optional rewind roll pusher is available to push finished rolls onto an unloading tree.
Rewind tension is a function of air loading on our differential shafts through a PLC-based tension control system. In addition to a set tension value, we have the ability to program an incremental increase or decrease as the roll diameter builds. Rewind core locators are standard on al shafts. Programmable air-operated rider rolls build roll density throughout the winding process.
DRIVE & PLC
The model 738 HC is equipped with high performance AC Vector drives. Operation is monitored and controlled by an advanced PLC system based on standard ladder logic.
Operational controls consist of touch screens located at the rewind and unwind control stations. Both pivot for operator convenience. This PLC-based system provides running readouts, recipe storage, and machine diagnostics. The system is designed to facilitate easy operation.

MACHINE CONSTRUCTION
Over a sixty-year period, Stanford has earned a sound reputation for providing the most durable equipment in the industry. Heavy-duty side frames are constructed of 1" (25.4 mm) steel and are supported by several steel cross members that provide the stable foundation necessary for rugged, continuous day-to-day and year-after-year operation.
Maintenance is facilitated by convenient access to all enclosed drives and electrics via hinged doors.
We accommodate customers vendor-specific components requests whenever possible.
