UNWIND
A shaftless unwind easily accommodates 3" (76 mm) or 6" (152 mm) cores. Its multi-position hydraulics allows both right and left arms to adjust independently, making loading hassle-free.
For operator convenience, the machine offers right and left touch screen control stations to operate hydraulics, speed, chuck-to-core alignment and web guide jog control. External brake pad selection switched are also conveniently located on both sides of the unwind section.
The unwind hosts a top-of-the-line digital web guide with motorized sensor head for fine adjustments. The system accommodated ultrasonic, LED and line/edge sensors.
The Model 3038 is also available with a shaft-type unwind.
TENSION
Unwind tension is pneumatically controlled by a dancer roll in a closed loop system. Restraining torque is providing by dual pneumatic brakes. Rewind tension is programmable at the main control panel.
WALKOVER
A walkover is provided between the unwind and rewind sections for easy access to the slitting knives. A touch screen control panel is strategically located here with run, stop, jog, web guiding and brake functions. Also accessible from the walkway is an optional splice table with dual pneumatic web clamps.
SLITTING
Razor, shear or score slitting are offered and are inter-changeable on the Model 3038.
Knife engagement, with up-down and side-to-side motions, can be controlled from the walkover and the main control panel at eh rewind. The driven bottom knife shafts roll out for easy removal. Razor knife holders are "depth" and "blade" adjustable to prolong cutting life. A positive lock down is provided on the top knife for score slitting. A driven bowed roll eliminates wrinkles prior to slitting.
REWIND
Cantilevered spacerless differential rewind shafts are flange-mounted for easy removal and are complete with core positioning guides. Standard 3" (76 mm) or 6" (152 mm) shafts are sized for specified core ID's to ensure better concentricity and therefore, improves edge quality. Outboard support arms sustain the shafts and drop away for unloading.
Automatic web clamps secure the web position prior to the rewind shaft for more accurate web alignment on the cores. A jog pedal is conveniently positioned to assist in thread-up.
Programmable, air-operated rider rolls provide density control and are available in various web widths. Multiple rider rolls can be supplied and are easily plugged into strategically positioned universal air manifolds. Two integral telescoping roll pushes (optional) with individual controls expedite unloading to the roll tree.
MATERIAL
The Model 3038 slitter rewinder will perform well on a broad range of material including films, laminates, papers, non-wovens, vinyl, cellophane, and pressure sensitives.
DRIVE & PLC
The Model 3038 utilizes the latest AC Vector drive system. Operation is monitored and controlled by an advanced PLC system based on standard ladder logic. The machine hosts up to 4 touch screen control panels for efficient multi-function operation. The PLC system allows for unlimited recipe storage. Metric or English readout selections are available.
