The Butt Splicer mechanism employs a flying knife which moves across the web as it makes a cut. The CTC design produces the most accurate and consistent zero gap butt splice of any machine on the market, and is the most user friendly in terms of splice preparation. It also has a unique feature which applies tape to both sides of the web at the same location in the splice mechanism thereby significantly reducing the probability of the splice separating in the splicer. For those applications which only require splicing tape to be placed on one side of the web, the CTC Butt Splicing mechanisms have a unique advantage over competitive equipment because our Splicers allow the splicing tape to be placed on the same side of the web each time the unit makes a splice. This design eliminates the need to have a turreting type unwind stand in order to achieve the same result.
