Mark Andy announces the installation of a Performance Series P5 press at Ecuadorian label manufacturer, Carlex Cia Ltda (fabricacarlex.net). With more than 40 years’ printing experience on a variety of substrates, Carlex is a leader in label and packaging printing in the Central America region.

Carlex provides labels and packaging primarily to the food and beverage, consumer goods and industrial sectors. Their investment in the Performance Series P5 will enable further growth in the Latin American flexible packaging market, which is projected to grow at a CAGR of approximately 12% for the period 2014-2019, according to an October 2014 Mordor Intelligence industry report.

John Cavey, sales manager for Latin America at Mark Andy Inc. states, “Efficiency and productivity are top of mind for converters across the globe. Mark Andy is proud to partner with converters to implement more efficient production techniques and technology, resulting in more profitability. We are encouraged by the expected growth in Latin America and are confident our robust product offering will continue to be well-received in this market.”

The Mark Andy Performance Series P5 acquired by Carlex is a 17 inch (440mm) width, 8-color UV-flexo press, well poised for flexible packaging with options including chill rolls, a web turn bar, cold foil adhesive capabilities and a delam/relam unit.
